Myself J. Jayalakshmi hailing from Pudukottai District of Tamilnadu. I have an elder sister. We are basically farmers and belong to a BPL family. My parents could not even meet the basic needs as there is no regular income from traditional farming. When I was troubled and mentally depressed, I came to know about DDU-GKY and immediately enrolled at Thiruvalluvar Educational and Rural Development Trust, Karaikudi as an Sewing Machine Operator. On successful completion of the course, I was placed at Sri Kalyan Export, Erode. Now I am earning a monthly salary of Rs.10000/- and quite happy. All these made possible only because of DDU-GKY and the excellent guidance given from Thiruvalluvar Educational and Rural Development Trust. DDU-GKY changed not only me but also the condition of my family.

Kasthuri Y, comes from a lower middle class family which consists of four members. Her father is a coolie and her mother is working under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. Her life was never easy. Nevertheless, in her gloomy and depressing life, DDU-GKY programme came as a ray of hope. The DDU-GKY project offered her ample opportunities in skill training which enabled her to pursue her dreams. Later she joined Thiruvalluvar Educational and Rural Development Trust and attended 3 month training for GDA course and its successful completion she got placement in Prabu Dental Clinic as General Duty Assistant. Kasthuri is very grateful to Thiruvalluvar Educational and Rural Development Trust for helping her to enhance her skills in GDA and for helping her in building up her career. Currently she is employed and is earning a handsome salary to give her family a better life.

I am Vinotha S hailing from Mela Monni, Devakottai. I come from a poor background and was trying hard to find a job to sustain. It was at that time, I came to know about DDU-GKY Program and Thiruvalluvar Educational and Rural Development Trust. I registered my name for their skill development training programme and joined for the Sewing Machine Operator course. The training that I got there was unique and was a different experience for me. Throughout the session, we did get to understand about the course and after the successful completion of 3 months training, I got placed in Sri Kalyan Export, Erode with a starting salary of Rs. 9000/-. Now I earn much more than that and am still enjoying what I am handling. I can observe the changes that have happened to me and my life, and it’s beautiful. Today I am the bread winner of my family and I have paid off the debts of my family. Now we lead a happy life. This skill programme on Sewing Machine Operator has changed my life entirely.

Jothilakshmi, lives in Karaikudi, Tamilnadu, with my family.. I had only the qualification of higher secondary education and never thought that I could makeup someday and life moved on as ordinary as before. I got a turning point to this ordinary life of mine as I came to know about the central government project DDUGKY from a friend who works in the panchayat. Myself Anandhi Chelladurai hailing from Thaspuram, Puliyadithambam in Sivagangai District. I have four people in my family. My Father, Mother, younger sister and me. I came to know about ‘DDY-GKY’ through panchayat. I joined at Thiruvalluvar Educational and Rural Development Trust on 07 September 2021. It was a three-month training programme. There were many courses, but I joined for the ‘Sewing Machine Operator’ as I was interested in sewing. It was an amazing training programme and teachers and staff were very supportive and dedicated.

Myself Gayathri S hailing from Kandanur of Sivagangai District in Tamilnadu. My family consists of my parents and my elder sister. My parents are casual labourers and they don't have any regular income. I personally felt bad, seeing my parents struggling a lot to bring us up. With a HSC certificate it was difficult to get a job so that I can support my family. Then as a breeze of comfort, I came to know about DDU-GKY project through my Grama Panchayat block co-ordinator and enrolled as a GDA student at Thiruvalluvar Educational and Rural Development Trust.

Sarasvathi M from Adiyarkulam, Piranmalai in Sivagangai District. Basically she is from a middle class family background. Once she completed her SSLC, she struggled a lot to get a job. It was such an important time in Sarasvathi’s life. At that time she came to know about the courses offered by Thiruvalluvar Educational and Rural Development Trust under DDU-GKY scheme, at a free-of-cost. After seeing her interest and willingness, she is suggested to join the SMO course. In 3 months she developed herself to be a great skilled and experienced candidate and also got a golden opportunity to work for Sri Kalyan Export, Erode.

I am Parimala A hailing from Suthanthirapuram, Devakottai. I was brought up under a poor background as family was economically poor and I got married after my higher secondary education. Now my family consists of five members including myself and my husband. My husband, who was a coolie worker, had suffered a lot alone to earn the bread for my whole family. So my aim was to support my family as early as possible I have a child to take care of and it was hard for me to meet both the ends along with this. Even I had to wait for a while according to my needs I was blessed with a job which is near to my home. I thank Thiruvalluvar Educational and Rural Development Trust for securing the job. Myself Meenatchi M, hailing from Vairavanpatti, Thiruppathur Block of Sivagangai District. I would like to share my wonderful experience with Thiruvalluvar Educational and Rural Development Trust which helped me to reinvent myself. I belong to a very poor family background and so getting a job was pretty much important for me. So, when I came to know about the DDU-GKY programme& Thiruvalluvar Educational and Rural Development Trust, I wasn’t sure to what level they were good at delivering quality training and placement. I was a bit hesitant & amazed at the same time since 100% placement assistance is not something which everyone guarantees. Thiruvalluvar Trust and its staff members did show confidence in their approach. And I knew I was making the right decision in taking up their course. The course which I opted for was GDA.
